Grand Opening Recap

Thank you to all the attendees and vendors that made our Grand Opening a huge success! 

We had industry experts fly into San Diego including Sydni Brae-Gwinn and Keith Duplessie from P&S Detail Products, Casey and Jeff Brammer from Koch-Chemie, Mike Hines from Car Candy Auto Detail Products, Darrell Baker from RUPES tools, polish and pads, Tony Mazel from Buff & Shine pads, Wendell from First Choice Auto Detail Supplies, Shawn Sepulveda and Lindsay Rose from CCi Ceramic Coatings Inc, Kyle Clark from Autofiber (our brand) & Xtreme Detailing USA and Phil from West Coast Wrap and Tint. Special friend and guest appearances included Josh Vanderwaall @joshv and Steven Thompson @detailkid.

Some of the most helpful tips and tricks we heard from vendors included:

• RUPES -
  • "Set your polisher to 3/3.5, you should never have to go higher"
  • "Always test spot starting with the lightest pad and polish since every car is different. Evaluate needs after test spotting"
  • "Know your customer's expectations, since our expectations as detailers is ultra-high"
  • "Polish 6 times the area of the pad size at a time, then clean your pad with an air tool" like our GCC Twister Blow Out tool
  • "Apply product to your pad to prep it, once product spread out, then apply a few drops on the pad for the panel area you are working on. It doesnt take much product. The pad and tool does 85% of the cutting when tested, you do not need to move your polisher all around, let the polisher osscilate and move slowly."
  • "Don't wait to clean your pad until the end of your job"
  • "All Rupes polishes and tools are made in house, even the bottles  and velcro, only excludes battery, power level dial and corded power cables."
    
• Car Candy -
  • "Decon after the pre-wash and wash stage, never before to prevent moving around contaminates"
  • "Don't let products dry on your car, always let the foam do it's job for a short period of time then rinse.
  • "Often agitation is not required"
  • "Our products are not dyed, that's the color of the raw ingredients, which we produce in-house"
